Problems Sending

The upload progress bar never shows any progress.
Internet Explorer, Chrome. and Firefox work properly and should show a progress bar. We recommend using one of these browsers with Slingshot.

Safari will not show any upload progress but will upload files correctly, see below for details.

Uploads that take less than 30 seconds may not show any progress because the upload finishes before the progress bar can update.

The upload progress bar needs the browser ask for status from the Slingshot server. Unfortunately Safari uses an open source system called WebKit and that system has a bug that will not allow us to get status. We are waiting for WebKit to fix this bug (we have been waiting for 2 years so far, see bug report here).

Seperately, there is another known problem with Safari wherein the the upload never starts. We recommend that if an upload appears to be taking longer than it should you stop the transaction and reset your web browser. Go to "Safari" -> "Reset Safari".
