Highlights

• New Site Design: Refreshed, responsive design with light and dark modes.
• New Emails: Redesigned email notifications for better clarity and usability.
• Rostr Integration: Easily add contacts by email or searching Rostr. Mark your Favorites to easily add frequently used contacts.
• Require Note Acceptance: Require recipients "accept" the note before seeing the files, ensuring they've seen any specific instructions you include.
• Improved Upload Experience: Drag and drop uploading with file previews and upload progress.
• File Ordering: Reorder files before or after sending a Slingshot to curate the order recipients view your files.

• Cloud Migration: Deployed Slingshot to AWS, moving away from on-premises hosting.
• Increased Filesize Limit: Increased the maximum allowed file size for uploads from 4 GB to 6 GB.

Unified Sending Experience

• Recipient Field Overhaul:
  • Easily accessible "You" shortcut for quickly sending files to yourself.
  • Integrated Rostr search, easily add people by name.
  • Recently sent emails are now easily accessible and manageable.
  • Ability to favorite contacts for quick access.
  • Outlook/Apple Mail Paste support: Paste multiple emails from Outlook or Apple Mail and they are parsed, added, then enhanced by Rostr.
  • Copy support: Copy selected emails in a format that can be pasted into Outlook or Apple Mail.
• Download Options: Clarified mutually exclusive options (Unlimited, Download Once, View Only) as a three-option selector.
• Expiration Choices: Reduced to commonly used expiration times.
• Require Note Acceptance: Require recipients "accept" the note before seeing the files, ensuring they've seen any specific instructions you include.
• Password Visibility: Toggle eye to show/hide password text.

Upload Page Enhancements

• Drag & Drop: Added drag-and-drop support for file uploads and reordering.
• Preserve File Order: The file order is preserved between the upload page, email, and pickup page.
• File Preview: Image and video previews for supported file types before upload.
• File Details: Shows file size and last modified date for each file to ensure correct files have been selected.
• Improved Filename Display: If a filename is too long to display, remove characters from the middle of the filename instead of the end to ensure -V4_Final.mov isn't hidden.
• Client-Side Validation: Pre-validates all server-side rejection reasons, including:
  • Zero-byte files.
  • Duplicate file names (with details for disambiguation).
  • Name collisions after sanitization.
• Progress Feedback: Improved upload experience by displaying progress bar with speed and time estimates.
• Session Handling: Improved handling of expired sessions during upload:
  • Displays login error without losing progress.
  • Opens login in a new tab and allows retry after re-authentication.

Pickup Page (Receiver)

• Persistent URLs: Retains ?c=<code> in the URL after password entry to preserve context.
• Contextual Info: Displays email subject, notes, and sender for clarity.
• Image Thumbnails: Present scaled-down thumbnails for images to assist in downloading.
• Inline Media Preview: Video (mp4/m4v), audio (mp3/wav), and PDF files can be viewed or listened to inline.
• Bulk Download: Choice between "Download All" or "Download as Zip" options for large sets of files. "As Zip" downloads a single zip file containing all files in the Slingshot.
• One-Time Download Handling: Graceful handling and clear messaging if files have already been downloaded.

Manage Page (Sender)

• Download Tracking: Displays "Last Downloaded" timestamp in the receiver grid.
• File Reordering: Reorder files of the Slingshot to curate the order recipients view your files.
• File Upload: Add additional files to an already sent Slingshot. Combined with deleting a file this can be used to update a file to a newer version.

Your Slingshots Page
Accessible by clicking on your name in the top right corner and selecting "Your Slingshots" from the dropdown menu.

• Sent to you: List of all Slingshots sent to you by others.
• Sent by you: List of all Slingshots that you have sent.
• Search Slingshots: Search through your slingshots - be it sender, subject, note, or any filename!
• Copy Link Button: Copies the public Share link of a Slingshot to your clipboard.
• Legacy Slingshots: Slingshots sent before 4.0 will be listed, but the Manage/View links only work with newly sent Slingshots.
